Today is the day of Indonesian Muslims cast away their voices to prosecute the candidate/incumbent governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, or famously recognized as Ahok who proposes to reinstate his position by yelling that Indonesian Muslims are being deceived and fooled by Al-Maidah 51 (one of Al-Quran verses). The statement of him apparently leads him to be sued by thousands of Muslims in Indonesia, he is accused of blasphemy due to his “unconscious pronouncement”. Although he already confirmed his apology to all irritated Muslims toward the “blasphemy” he unintentionally did, yet some pious people who fundamentally understand about laws of ridiculing the Holy Quran seemingly demand a strict rule to be applied on him by emerging a so-called demonstration “to give him a lesson”.
It is believed to be the duty of Muslims to defend the Holy Quran from those who insult, ridicule, mock and commit any immoral deed toward the Muslims guidance of life. I suppose, it is not only Muslims who will get scathed yet every comprehensive believer will feel insulted whenever their Holy Verse is being contempted by the one who learns nothing about the related religion. As borne in Holy Quran “and do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the heart – about all those [one] will be questioned” (Al- Israa 36), the verse obviously warns the ones uttering something unessential but shouting loud that they know their own utterances.
Pathetically, some Muslims who only cry for religion justice in law are many times labelled as “extremists” that brutally argue a case accordingly from one point of view, but actually they just resist to witness their beloved religion is mocked by irresponsible individual. This is the same case that is happening in Indonesia, in which Muslims merely appeal for equality in terms of justice, for justice is blind, does not consider whoever is red-handed collides the rule that is prior upright. For rule is rule that never ponders for even incumbent or king, we, Muslims are looking forward for the fine to the doer of blasphemy.
Throwing Ahok a punishment does never mean that the muslims are merciless, they just intend to explicate that taunting any religion is not proper. Regarding to his occupation is DKI Jakarta Governor who ideally speaks as intelligent one does and acts as sovereign leader guides, in fact, he does not possess the wished sort of generous leader. As Ahok stated, “jadi jangan percaya sama orang, kan bisa aja dalam hati kecil bapak ibu nggak pilih saya. Dibohongin pakai surat Al-Maidah ayat 51, macam-macam itu. Itu hak bapak ibu” in front of inhabitants of Kepulauan Seribu (27/9), that approximately means “so do not believe in others, it could be your conscience says to not choosing me. Being prevaricated by Al-Maidah verse 51, and so on. That is all your right”. From his statements above, it is vividly that he opined boastfully like he understands the meaning of the verse, fact is, he is not even Islam believer.
Unfortunately, a muslim man named Nusron Wahid claiming that Ahok never meant to mock the Holy Quran verse, instead, the man said that the priests misunderstood about interpreting the verse solely according to themselves. Wahid deliberately stated “Yang paling tahu tentang apa yang di sampaikan oleh Ahok di Kepulauan Seribu ya Ahok, bukan orang lain..” (11/10), which means, “the one who knows at most about what Ahok delivered in his previous statement is nothing but Ahok himself, no another man..” He resisted the opinion that Ahok insulted Al-Maidah 51, he opposed the people that are in cons with Ahok. As the matter of fact, Ahok is neither God that is almighty interpreting the verse by himself. This does sound tragic, where the Priest are called sanctimonious and the blasphemy is all over pleaded.
Wahid indirectly cogitated that some Priests are just sanctimonious in a discussion. He pronounced “yang namanya Al-Quran, yang paling sah untuk menafsirkan, yang paling tahu tentang Al-Quran itu sendiri adalah Allah SWT dan Rasul, bukan Majelis Ulama Indonesia..”, which means “the thing such Al-Quran, the ones who authoritatively to interpret, the ones who are the most cognizant of Al-Quran itself are Allah and His Prophet, not Indonesian Priest Council..” Of the statement, Wahid is for better for worse is seemingly right, no one but Allah who know Al-Quran at most, the word “most” specified the meaning among interpreters of the Holy Quran, of course as the book of guidance of mankind, it is absolutely understandable, legible and interpretable by human. Indeed, it is not everyone is able to grasp the meaning of the Holy Book, it has been acceptable that the priests are the pious people who are credible to interpret the meaning of it, recalling that we are no longer living in Prophet age, then the responsibility of expounding the Al-Quran is under Priests duty.
At last, giving fine to the guilty man does not refer to revenge or such immoral deeds, it only tends to hamper any other individual to commit the similar thing later on. The analogy is like parents punish their child from doing bad things does not purpose to loathe or discriminate the child, rather, they care and cherish their child in order to hinder worst thing repeat once more in the future. The Indonesian Muslims never intend to begin a war among believers, they just wish for justice and peace in terms of generous leader.
